If you're more interested in finishing in the money than your earn rate, you could play tighter earlier on. Your variance will be lower, you won't win as much, but you'll finish in the money more often.

What people don't realize is that the vast majority of money you make in poker is because of your opponent's mistakes. Not your brilliant plant.

Maybe it's because the games are harder now, not easier.

you are right. they are total crapshoots now. with all the bad players it isn't worth playing there anymore unless you want to gamble. the gambles at the $10 sngs are probably worse than playing blackjack because instead of just gambling against the dealer you have to gamble against 9 other players. this is really bad odds.

there is two things you should do. it sounds like you only have a bankroll of about $700 left after your horrible bad beats. if i was you i would either:

a) play 6 $100+9 sng's and 1 $50+5 - this will be against better players and it won't be a crapshoot. and even if you get unlucky once or twice you are playing 7 in total and should start winning money.

b) the other option is to play roulette using the martingale system. start with a bet of $50 and go from there.

good luck in whichever you choose to do.
