Default How many bets with the nuts?

LHE game and it's down to the river. Board is AAK48. You have AK. Action previous to the river has made it clear villain has a big hand, but he's somewhat of a retard. You both have over 100 bets in front of you. How many bets do you go?

Even though there's a very good chance of chopping and it'll probably take 10+ minutes to bet?

Good point (about the time factor)... maybe that puts the rest of the table on tilt... potentially a good thing based on other posts in these forums.

I guess it depends a bit on what type of player. I've seen players go for quite a while with second and third nuts (quite likely based on the retard read).

If a place has unlimited betting HU, they might allow you both to agree to just go all in to save time. Might be worth looking into. Though it might 'wake' the guy up if he has a lesser hand and kill some of the action.

I took my seat in a live 20/40 game and the very first hand I saw before I even came in I saw 2 guys go raise and reraise PF for around 15 bets. Of course both had AA but the fact that eventually one called was sort of surprising. I don't think it is rude at all to raise until you are all-in when you have the nuts. Thankfully, the dealer left the bets in front of them so it made choping easy when neither hit a flush.

If he's somewhat of a retard then make him be the one who stops.

Something like this happened to me my first trip to a B&M, I had also never played online. I had the nut flush and we went 4 bets until I just called. I didn't know that you could keep going if it was heads-up. I turn my hand over and the guy says he didn't even see the flush out there and he would have kept raising, I suck at poker.
