Default Screwed the riv. I think.

Tenth hand at table and villain is standard-nothing-out-of-ordinary so far. If I'm bet/folding the river, then check/calling should be better right?

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (6 max, 4 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is BB with T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG calls, 1 fold, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (3 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, UTG calls, SB calls.

Turn: (3 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, UTG folds, SB calls.

River: (5 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB raises, Hero folds.

Final Pot: 8 BB

How can you c/c last to act?

I think this is just fine, if SB isn't known to donk.

Check behind on river, You should have cut the action off after you bet by the way.

Now all the responses will be scewed.

The flush completes, an overcard lands, your kicker sucks.

I hate checking that river, bet/fold or bet/call are both EV+ IMO

I agree that checking the river is bad. Not sure if bet/call is +EV, however. Granted, any line that involves betting > EV than checking, but -5 > -7.

I like betting the river, but folding is likely best, just hard to do. No read a call can't be that bad, but [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]'s got there, it's an over card, I think I would fold the river.

Hi Peter,

Why?

We have no indication that SB has a diamond or a J. I'm value betting my pair. Pairs are good hands.
