Default Lay down this AA?

Prima poker 6 handed .25/.50

UTG limps
Hero raises to $2
Button calls
SB folds
BB calls
UTG calls

Flop ($8.25) - 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

BB goes all in for $2
UTG Raises to $8
Hero?

UTG has about $50 left behind him after the raise I have him covered. Button has about $40 left.

No real reads on any of the players as yet (just sat down). I folded, but on reflection that was weak. Should I have kept going?

Oh my god. His raise is not even pot sized. Make it $20-ish and take it from there. BTW, is one of your aces the Ah?

At this point in the hand you have no reason to belive you are beaten, especially 6 way. A set would most likley slow down, not trying to get you out of the pot. I would guess this guy has a 9 with a decent kicker, trying to get out overs. He could also have a mid PP like 88 or TT or a big flush draw trying to buy his overs extra outs. I would raise to 20 or so here and fire the rest at the turn.

No my Aces were black.

To be fair his bet is $8 into a $10 so its not far off. At the time I just thought his raise indicated strenght beyond simply wanting to isolate the all in. Not sure why really I'm was pretty sure he'd have repoped with a high PP (general read of the tables rather than specific to the player). In general I've take to getting clear of any reraise at this level without a monster hand. Most players are simply so passive that they'll rarly raise without something powerful. Everything I had was screaming set so I binned it. in retrospect it's not that clear cut.

Lol thank, I'll remember that next time.

Anyway in the end the all in had TPTK and the raiser had 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] for a monster draw which missed in the end. Its pretty clear that folding was the wrong move in this case.

I call / reraise. UTG could just be isolating.

Why would you assume a set would slow down? This is a dangerous board for a set, flush draw and str8 draw. A set SHOULD fire hard on this flop.
