Default starting out on the long road, need some help...

Hi

I'm currently starting out playing poker online full-time, and could do with some support from other guys/girls doing the same thing. I'd like to discuss strategy, bankroll, sites, etc with other online pros, and develop a mutually beneficial relationship.

I'd love to hear from people who are starting out, or are planning on soon, as well as established pros.

My e-mail address is Colm.Ginty@mymeteor.ie.

In my opinion your roll is way too small for fulltime. I hope you have a substantial savings account and minimal living expenses.

You bankroll is WAY too small to play full time. Of course this can all depend on what you are calling your "bankroll" and if you have other funds available.

Good luck.

That's right, I've just started.

1800 is 300BB, which is what Mason Malmuth suggests I believe. Since I'll be multi-tabling, and my style isn't super-agressive, my variance won't be extremely high.I live with my parents currently, so yes, my living expenses are minimal. I appreciate your concern guys, but I've thought this through.

I would raise the question of how does Dad feel about subsidizing the beginnings of a poker career? Or is it Mom who has the ultimate say?

I would also suggest reading something biographical about Stuey Ungar and I am sure there are other cases as well.

In general, poker is the sort of game where it is relatively possible for a highly talented young person to succeed at a high level very quickly. Then I would say it is next to impossible for anyone under 40 to maintain that success.
