Default Re: Restating the Paradox

[ QUOTE ]
Premise 1: God is Omnipotent and Omnicient.
Premise 2: God created humans.
Premise 3: Those humans have free will.

This logically does not follow. Here is why:

[/ QUOTE ]

I would go further than say it does not follow, and say that the argument is nonsense on just about every level.

[ QUOTE ]
God is Omnipotent and Omnicient.

[/ QUOTE ]

I really feel that Omnipotent and Omniscient work like titles rather than descriptive adjectives.

Certainly for an entity to be either omnipotent or omniscient opens such a logical bag of worms that the terms are essentially meaningless except as some sort of impressive title.

Rather just say what the entity can do, or knows and leave aside adjectives that just confuse everyone.

[ QUOTE ]
God created humans

[/ QUOTE ]

Hurmpf.

[ QUOTE ]
Those humans have free will.

This logically does not follow

[/ QUOTE ]

Depends what you mean by free will.

If you consider free will to be an artefact of the human thought prosses that creates the sensation of having choice in an individual than I do not see the contradiction.

"Attributes of God", really a category on its own, although I suspect it has both adjectival and titular aspects to it.

You highlight again that quaint attachment to inferential deductive systems. When will you learn to make ministerial use of your deductive faculties?
