Default Live casino question about max buy in

The casino I play in has max buy ins between 40-50x the bb. Is this common? I find this structure forces you to play tighter preflop, as even if u limp with a small pair a preflop raise will make it hard to play profitably postflop.

Here in Vegas, the Luxor offers a 1-1-2 game with $50 max buyin, which is pretty wild (lots of all-ins PF). There are also quite a few places that offer a 1-2 with max $100 buyin or 2-4 with $200.

So yeah, seems pretty common.

smaller stacks = longshot Drawing hands are worse (small pair+SCs) and big pairs and high cards are better.
