Default A few questions about going pro

I have a dream! A dream of a better tomorrow - a dream of a new world of joy and jubilation!

Either way, I was thinking about this the other day and I wondered, which stakes (6-max) must you play in order to achieve about $2k income by playing 2-3 tables 3-5 hours a day? Of course I could do the math by assuming I can make 1 BB/100, but since the rate can vary a lot on different levels, I ask you, the pros who already make that (or more), which stakes are required for a "stable" $2k per month on that amount (by stable I mean, it can be more but on the average it wouldn't be below)?

[edit] Also for those who are already doing it for living, how long did it take to get to that point ?

Thanks

4-tabling 5/10 6m, I played about 50 hours this month. I made ~$2000 from cards, and another $800 from rakeback. I only ran 1.5 for the month too.

Sounds fairly reasonable and the BB/100 isn't so high either (Meaning it can be more when you're running good). Thanks for the response. I think it will change some when I move money from PokerStars to Party or other 'easier' site Plus I get the rakeback.. I'm just going to learn the game at ps.

How is 5/10 6-max at stars btw, any experiences ?

Dunno, but party's is a blast. I had my worst $$ downswing (-$1100) this month and I still ended +$2000.

I treaded water at NL and a bit of limit for about 2 years. I picked up SSH last november and I "went pro" last april.

I don't think I played at all since the 20th. I've been sorting out this whole PE fiasco since I got the warning, and alot of [censored]'s going on in my personal life.

With that disclaimer, about 14,000.

About PE...to use it, dont u just have to shut down the random program party has going in your processes (that detects your PE program)?

I was reading something like that somewhere.

EDIT: could be wrong about that, but I dont play party much, so it was a random tidbit to me, didnt really pay attention to it.

Okay, I've only been to poker since like april or something, started with $6 then and am doing fairly fine (over 100xed ever since). Anyway, I'm planning on concentrating more on poker this autumn, winter and spring, and am hoping to reach at least the $5/$10 level before next summer.

If you multitable shorthanded full time for a month you should make close to $2000 from rakeback alone.
