The river was a red 8. Monkey 1 tables 45o and the monkey on the button tables A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. They chop. I spend the next 30 minutes wondering if I should have peeled on 4th street instead of raising. [/ QUOTE ] Monkey 1 (who I assume is actually Monkey 2 here) is psychotic. If he is willing to raise with 2 under cards on a board like that with only a draw to a chop, then you can't re-raise him here. A player like that, you are supposed to check call and let him value bet for you... ESPECIALLY with a bad reverse implied odds hand like the one you had. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, Im not raising the monkey for value. I frankly can't tell whether I'm ahead or behind him. Ive played hands with this guy where he keeps betting into my raises, then can show me top two, or pocket deuces. Very hard to read. Im raising because of the 2 other players behind me who might be drawing live to a non-flush/straight hand. The raise feels standard, but I just dont know given this board. |

Re: Problematic KK hand
Raising the flop does not protect the hero's hand, the "monkeys" are getting the odds they need to correctly call down with almost any draw they may have. call the flop, let the flop agressor build the pot for you, and raise the turn.
I assume this was in Reno?? U like? TT [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] |
