Default Party .5-1 killer K7o

Game is a typical .5-1

It is hero's first hand in the BB. UTG raises and 4 players coldcall. SB folds and Hero says, "its only .50c and calls with K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in the BB.

6 players for 12.5 sb
Flop is K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].

Hero bets, UTG raises, 2 players call and hero calls

4 players for 10 BB
Turn is 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Hero checks, UTG bets, 2 callers, Hero raises, UTG 3bets, 1 player folds and 1 calls, and Hero caps. UTG and MP call.

3 players for 22BB
River is a blank (cant remember)
Hero bets, UTG raises, MP folds, hero 3bets, UTG caps and hero calls.

Final pot 30BB

How did I do?

This hand reminds me of that scene in Pretator where Jesse Ventura(?) shoots off the minigun and takes out the whole forrest. Why the turn cap? The river 3-bet is just a donation IMO.

Fold pf, did you ever consider slowing down at some point in this hand?

I had a similar situation in a live game over the weekend. 74o in the BB and I could see the flop for a buck. Flopped two pair then things got a lot scarier and much more costly. There's a reason they say to fold these hands.

The general consensus so far is the preflop call is bad. That may be true, but when you are getting 11.5:1 it can not be a large error at all.

No one has addressed the postflop play, which is, as all he experts say, where all the money is made. So, how botched was this hand postflop and why. I want to see you microlimiters prove to me that this is misplayed at some point. Put UTG on a hand. Put MP on a hand. It is easy to criticize seemingly wild play but can you give me reasons why. By defending your points is how you learn and get better. Lets see it guys.

"its only .50c and calls with K 7 in the BB

This "50c" is going to cost you 100s at this level in the long run and 1000s when you move up.

Peace,
