Party players playing with Empire and vice versa?

My friend has an account on Party and I have an Empire account. Besides the obvious "Tell him to get an Empire account," how can I play with him?

Yeah, I thought they were the same network (Same games). I can't find him by searching or adding him to my list. Maybe it takes time or I'm a moron. Let me know.
