Default top pair vs. unknown

SB is on his second hand at the table
button is fairly laggy

Paradise Poker 8/16 10max, 5handed

Preflop: Hero is CO with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
1 fold, Hero raises, Button calls, SB calls, BB calls.

Flop: 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, Button calls, SB raises, BB folds, Hero raises, Button folds, SB caps, Hero calls.

Turn: 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
SB bets, Hero calls.

River: A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
SB bets, Hero calls.

standard or should i fold somewhere?

Looks good. I would never fold this, if anything a turn raise could be considered but I think after his flop cap it is wiser to just call down.

Nice hand. You probably lost because most people won't bet a worse hand on the river because of the ace.

nice hand. i could see why youd want to fold but against an unknown theres no way im doing that.

You'll get a lot of "aggro guy 3 bet the flop for a free card again, better cap with my pair" here.

Am I the only one that considers folding the turn here? Sure this guy is unknown but most players don't cap it on the turn with just top pair. Usually they will slow down when they get three bet as it almost means TPTK or an overpair and sometimes someone looking for a free card. I used to always call down in these situations, but the more I do the more I think that it isn't correct. I think I'm folding the turn here because I don't see him capping with anything less than two pair or a set. Would this guy cap with an OESD? Guess it is tough against an unkown, but i still think I fold this.

i do 3bet overcards for a free card most of the time when in position heads up. is this correct? it depends, right?

I think it depends a lot on your opponents. If you know that your free card play will work most of the time than it is usually correct, but I also think flop texture has a lot to do with it as well.
