Default Anyone ever played \"Rhode Island\" Poker?

Going to try it out with some friends tonight. What do you all think? Would it be sensible to play NL?

Everyone is dealt one card, and then there is a round of betting.

The "flop" is only one card, after which betting continues. Next and final round is the river, and the best three card hand wins.

Straights beat Flushes, and three of a kind beats both. Other than that, hand values are the same (no 2 pair, FH, or quads obviously)

I'm thinking NL would suck. An ace is going to have a huge advantage on the first round.

Playing this PL would be kind of fun. You'd be able to try to hit a pair and make an ace pay off. I wouldn't ever expect to see any straights or flushes that don't have an ace though.

If you like this game, you might try three card brag. It seems like it'd appeal to the same crowd.
