If you mean to say that he called with AQ like a fish who calls with AQ because it's a nice hand or something, then this whole thread isn't interesting to begin with, IMHO.

umm, ok, im pretty sure you are NOT missing the point, but this doesnt make a whole lot of sense.. anyways, in his situation, the most likely hand i could put 'bebop86' on would be AK. just seems to make sense and all, but whatever, im not saying he made a bad call. in this situation, it worked out perfect. however, i AM saying that i WOULD NOT make that call in his spot. holla

The 'levels of thinking' topic has gotten me into trouble many times in the same situation. I'll make the same play (maybe not with 2-4o, but maybe pocket threes or 10-9s) and be thinking there is no way he can call this bet with less than AQs, but I get calls with A-9o, K-Js, all kinds of garbage. I think to myself, "wow, that was a great/terrible call", but how do I know which?

I would've dude, mostly because I think your table image is [censored] at that point

And I'm not a fan of 42o...22, 65s, Kx, sure, but not 42o.

raptor - i take back calling you an idiot, but it annoys me when players post a hand then berate anyone who disagrees with their play.

i would have nothing wrong with this play if you held 65s or a small pocket. however you will get called enough here and playing one of the worst hands in hold em sucks.

thankyou for showing that you dont think im an idiot. however, i would like you to take a look back over what i have said. i am not berating anyone who disagrees with my play. i am not even saying this play is the best play, as its clearly not. however, poker players, mtters in general, need to keep an open mind about making plays in situations where position and stack size is vastly more important than the cards they hold. holla
