How do you keep track of buy-ins?

How do you keep track of buy-ins? We seem to often have a discrepancy at the end of the night - any suggestions would be helpful.

Well, the way we fo it is we have one person be "the bank." They're in charge of the chips. You hand them $100, they hand you that much in chips. At the end of the night, if the pots off, it's on the banker to make it up. If it's short, they pay the difference. If its got extra money, they keep it.

I second the idea of having only one person manage the money and chips.

Another idea might be to write things down.

Write them down by person, only one person handles the bank, no one else touches it. Count down the money at the beginning and occasionally during the night (you'll only miss a few hands)

Decide how your group will handle shorts/overs.

we write the date and player's names on their buy ins and rebuys. Seriously....in pen, on the bills. Takes an additional 5 seconds per bill. Tough to beat that system....
