Fold preflop. but I love calling minraises.

I like the check raise make it 150 or something though. checkminraising sucks in this spot. (I do like the check minraise if you have a lot of chips you can get your opponent to commit with a weaker hand. But the check minraise screams volumes about your hand)

200-250 is fine on the turn (2/3 pot to pot)

And I just push after his minraise on the turn.

Hands you could be behind: AA/JJ/AJ And with the UTG minraise those are the hands he most likely has.

he could have a ton of hands you beat.

1500 chips, you have to call 20, and could take his whole stack if you flop the right flop getting 3.5:1. It's such a low investment ...

for 1.3% of your stack, I think calling a minraise here is fine if you can play post flop. I know not if this poster can play post flop.

I am usually one of those that advocates making small multiway PF calls early in an 1500 chip game. Here I fold. The worst kind of hands to play for any kind of money are big-little offsuits...they stink, and you actually still have pretty crappy implied odds here.

Preflop: Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
<font color="#CC3333">UTG raises to t40</font>, <font color="#666666">8 folds</font>, Hero calls t20.

* this is fine, if you can play well OOP

Flop: (t90) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">UTG bets t45</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to t90</font>, UTG calls t45.

* i dont like so much, you have told him your hand (the strength, not specific holding) without getting many chips for it. On raised ace high flops, you want Mr Ax to believe his TP is best hand for a while.

Suggest leading out for t50, if you get raised thats great, now your reraise is significantly more chips.
or, check/CALL, lead turn, or check/call, checkraise turn

Turn: (t270) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets t250</font>, <font color="#CC3333">UTG raises to t500</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to t750</font>, <font color="#CC3333">UTG raises to t1000</font>.
*having taken your flop line, leading out is the only option. When he plays back, well, just get it all in there, and hope he doesnt have A8/AJ/set

Yes. In addition, the minraiser was UTG. Maybe this doesn't mean much in a low-level SNG, but it might, and it's not worth the risk. I might call if they were sooted.

I have to admit that I have a lot of difficulty in calling w/ implied (or lack thereof) odds in situations such as this. I don't like a call here, but it is t20 and from there you have to play this.

I like the line/discussion big limpin took - i.e. bet out on the flop. yeah, if he folds you dont win a big pot, but at least you won w/ J3o.
