Default Vegas 15/30 and up?

Hi All,

I'm headed out to Vegas this coming Thursday and am curious to know anyone's thoughts on the quality of the mid-stakes Hold'em games in Vegas.
I've only played the lowest limits available when playing at a casino and the games are always, of course, quite soft. Is this true in general of live play at mid to low levels?
At any rate, any comments or insights as to how a typical 15/30 game might play would be appreciated. I usualy only play 5/10 party online but wouldn't mind stepping up for a live game if it's not going to be loaded with solid professionals.

Thanks,

WT

Well a typical 15/30 at Bellagio will certainly not be filled with solid professionals. I have played in that game a couple times and from my minimal experience there are usually 2-3 solid players at the table, 2-3 people who think they're solid but play too many hands, and 3-4 people who have no clue but have a roll of hundreds in front of them. It's a lot of fun.

What he said, and that can go for higher than that too! YMMV: Bell, Mirage, MGM, Wynn are pretty much the only places you'll find 15/30 and higher, with Wynn, Mirage, Bell being top 3, MGM probably only weekends.

NL wise, 5/10 is apparently juicier than 2/5, and 1/2 believe it or not, juicier than 2/5 also.

Looks like the tight locals/rocks all play 2/5.

As always YMMV and don't stay in a crummy game, ask for a table change or seat change before you take your first seat, cancel it if your 1st seat turns out golden.
