....but here is different. It's the floor person who f cked up, but it's the dealer who gets "punished". Some might argue that he shouldn't have mucked the hand, but no. It's the player who f cked up by not protecting his cards.

The problem would not have even occurred at all if it weren't for player error to begin with, but it is the dealer who really does get "punished" in the end, and he was just doing what he was trained to do by mucking those cards.

And what if another dealer pushes in? Do you still "punish" him/her for the players error?

Yeah, all hypothetical. No big whoop. Just pointing out that it's the floor who screwed the pooch here in this situation with a bad call.
