So, I'm screwing around with the little bit of money I have at stars, decide to buy in for the min. at 5/10NL.

[/ QUOTE ]

you know what's funny? this is absolutely the #1 factor contributing to the game being soft.

[/ QUOTE ]

No, the number one factor to the game being soft is people making negative EV plays.

It's a popular misnomer that buying in for a short-stack leads to a significant disadvantage.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think he was referring to the screwing around part, not the short buy-ins. Generally,

screwing around = -EV

not with people who min-buy. i put a shortstack all-in only on a good hand if i've seen them fold, otherwise they probably has something bad (low PP, Ax)

You lost $375, why the over-bet? KK? I'd never toss my whole stack in PF, that is bad NL player move...

[/ QUOTE ]

You might want to think next time before responding like this to someone as good as theGrifter. He has reasons for his plays, and they don't come from blanket statements such as, "I'd never toss in my whole stack preflop."

It's a popular misnomer that buying in for a short-stack leads to a significant disadvantage.

do you know what the word misnomer means?

I thought I did, but apparently not. Replace misnomer with misconception.
