Default Congrats to Phil Ivey!!!

Date / Time: 2005-06-29 01:47:00
Title: Phil Ivey Wins Event #27 ($5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha with Rebuys)
Log:
Hand 290 - Ivey has the button, he limps, and Williamson checks. The flop comes 8-7-4, Williamson bets $40,000, Ivey raises, and Williamson calls all in. Ivey shows 10d-6c-5s-4c (ten-high straight), and Williamson shows Ac-8c-2c-2h (pair of eights). The turn card pairs the board with the 4h, and Williamson needs to catch a two to stay alive (2 outs). The river card is the 3s, and Robert Williamson III is eliminated in second place, earning $353,115.

Phil Ivey wins Event #27 ($5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha with Rebuys), earning $630,685 and his fifth World Series of Poker bracelet.

What a great job by Ivey... just awesome. Will make for some incredible TV.

Definitely.

I'm more impressed by Williamson, though. What is this, the fourth or fifth straight year with a top five finish in an Omaha event at the WSOP? Williamson really must be the best American Omaha player in the world.

To be honest, I was rooting for Williamson, though. Nice guy, who deserves more than one WSOP Omaha title.

Congrats to R. Williamson as well. He keeps making the final table in this event. Amazing.

Yeah, Williamson's record is great, but Ivey's isn't too bad either. This is his second PLO bracelet.
