Dave,

To answer your question regarding moving up stakes, it is normal to feel apprehensive. Once we move outside our “comfort zone”, our anxiety immediately increases. This is true of all social beings, anthropologically speaking. In other words, it is the old homeostasis thing.

Each individual is unique with regards to the degree of anxiety they will feel—this is based on previous life experiences (think in terms of separation anxiety for children). How far you deviate from your homeostasis and the external environmental factors all contribute to the level of anxiety and whether you are pushed towards or away from that equilibrium.

If you move away with a healthy support and safety net, the anxiety will be less and you have an increased chance to mediate the anxiety. If the risk is perceived as threatening, the anxiety is significantly increased and other psychological factors are introduced.

Sorry, Barron, SP is one smart MoFo. Of course, I did see this exact same thing on the back of a card that had the ranking order of hands on it Tuesday night!

And for the record, my card had a serious error on it. It said two pair beat a straight flush. See if I ever use THAT card again.
