I am trying to learn limit as opposed to no limit, because that is what I would play if I were to visit a casino. Which I do from time to time but haven't played hold em yet. The thought of playing no limit cash game in a casino scares me. Yeah no limit with the boys is one thing, but with some rich bastard from Vegas...no thanks.

I started out as a NL player.

I switched to limit because of peer pressure and found it lots more fun.

Limit = A game of drawing

No limit = A game of pushing

Which ever you prefer.

Also, some people enjoy playing the turn/river, which you don't do often in no limit.

I like SNG's and MTTS don't play them much, but they were good to me when I was starting out

Limit has just kept me interested longer, I am thinking I should spend more time playing NL though

Why do you guys play low limit and structured games? I'm not knocking it, because I play limit as well, just wanted to know why most of you don't play it. Most of the people that play even small stakes No Limit make much more than limit players. So what is being the reasoning of playing Limit instead of No Limit?

[/ QUOTE ]

well, i decided on limit for a few reasons:
1. i wanted to multi-table, and seems like you have more information you need to process in NL re. your opponents. seemed like you can pay less individual attention to each particular table.
2. when i started there was LOTS of available literature about limit ring games and not very much about no-limit. seemed like an easier game to study, and since i didn't study in college, i guess i'm sort of compensating?
3. limit becomes fun for some of the tactical games you play that really don't factor in in NL. NL seems fun too, and i definitely want to learn, but there's still lots for me to learn in limit.
4. if you believe what the El Diablo's of the world say, at higher limits for strong players, there's more $$ to be made at limit. more games, more (bad) players.
