Re: mini step 5 level 1
I think you're playing weak tight, push it.
(I play the 22s) |

Re: mini step 5 level 1
Did you have some notes on the reraiser, like he only reraises with KK and AA?
If not, I think you have to push here. FWIW, I havent played in games that expensive. Maybe you know something else that I dont. |

Re: mini step 5 level 1
Without reads it is impossible to know what to do. It can go from autofold to autocall, depending on who does it.
I'd probably push since a raise to 375 makes no sense whatsoever. |

Re: mini step 5 level 1
I'm not even playing and both plays make my stomach tense up. Maybe your bankroll isn't big enough to play the steps (keep in mind that in order to make money here, you've gotta play a $400 tourny).
In the hand, I think you've gotta at least call that bet and reevaluate (you're favorite to the range JJ+,AK). If the flop comes down all low cards, bet out and fold comfortably to a raise, push if you get called. If he's willing to just call here with a better hand, be willing to give him all your chips. Obviously, if an A or a K flops, play extremely cautiously. Do high stakes players agree? |

Re: mini step 5 level 1
With no reads I have to push and pray for a moron/miracle. His raise to 375 makes no sense, as a previous poster pointed out (other than to leave him with a nice round 600). He's almost quadrupling the pot which would be a very unorthodox play with AA or KK (especially since you're represent strength). I tend to attribute this play to the "I have a low-medium pair and I want you to go away" philosophy.
Without any prior knowledge I can't think of a situation this far from the money that I would lay down the 3rd-best starting hand. If you call and lose you've got 475 to play with. That's a lot of time to wait for a hand since you're still at 10/15. If you win, you have 2450 and a donk-free cruise into the money in the top-5. Can't fold, can't call (what if an A or a K flops?)...Push. |

Re: mini step 5 level 1
Push and hope for JJ or AKs..or you could just hit a Q.

Re: mini step 5 level 1
I think your fold is the correct play. QQ can't really stand that big of a reraise this early in the game. You only lost 70 chips put it behind you and move on. Or on the flip side. U can take a flop and try and hit your hand. I think chances are good he has something along the lines of AK at which point ur really not favored that big, so fold is a really good play in that spot.
