i think it can be done tastefully. as long as the shirt isnt too flashy, otherwise its like having top shelf whiskey in your jack 'n coke.

I think that's a great analogy. While some people might be able to pull the look off, I really don't think that any occassion where a french cuffed shirt should be worn would qualify as casual.
