Concealed Weapon - how, why?
Can one get a permit to carry a concealed weapon or do you need to be under a threat or something?
Will carrying a gun not increase the risk of getting in a situation where lethal force is being used by both sides? Or will it prevent me from being beaten to death by some tugs. A "normal" time i could think it would be usefull is when carrying large amounts of cash aka the bankroll to the casino. That might also solve the problem with the cardprotector. Anyone packing heat and wanna share their toughts? |

Re: Concealed Weapon - how, why?
The process varies immensely by state.
In Minnesota, until recently, we were operating under a "shall issue" rule--- all you had to do was pass an approved saftey course, and have a clean backround check, and you would be issued a permit. There was a court decision which struck down this law, so we reverted to "may issue"; it's up to local law enforcement whether you get a permit or not. Politicking continues. And, of course, your permit in one state may not be valid in another. |

Re: Concealed Weapon - how, why?
Concealed weapons permits are easy to get around here and are very useful for buying guns. Removes the waiting period. Other than that I have no reason to get one. Actually including that I have no reason to get one. It would be useful if I wanted to buy a pistol at a gun show because the only way you leave with said weapon that day is with a permit, otherwise you have to wait and possibly travel to another city to pick up the gun.
If you carry a gun into the casino expect to get arrested. |
