Default king high flush...too passive?

3/6 NL party full ring

villain 31/13 over only two orbits or so, opens to 20 in the UTG+2. i call with KJh in the bb.

flop 6h 8h 2h
hero checks, villain checks.

turn 3d
hero bets 35, villain raises to 125, hero calls.

river 5d
hero checks...

i think i played bad on pretty much every street.

Stack sizes?

Bet the flop. Bet the turn. If he raises, 3 bet.

I agree, I don't understand why you wouldn't want to get the money in here. what hands are you worried about, and how likely are those hands?

Sure you'd like to get the money in there, but what kind of flop bet do you think he calls? I think it just as likely that you'll get more money in there if you can help him make his set or straight. I don't see any money going in with TPTK. I don't have a problem with playing the second nut flopped flush passive like this. He's either got his straight, Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] flush or will fire the second barrel of his bluff to your river check. Ok, so put me down as the minority report.

I think that given the flop check, the flat call is fine on the turn. Villian is unlikely to be drawing live, as he would have bet anything that was on the flop.

As for the river, I would probably lead, as I'm not really sure he's going to bet it for you. If he has the flush, he'll at least call, and maybe raise. With the straight, he probably calls. Of course, if he is bluffing. you lose anything he would have bluffed the river with.

If you don't reraise the turn, you could lead the pot on the river.

By raising the turn you may as well turn your cards face up. My guess is that he had a couple of overs with the Ace of hearts. Bet the flop to disguise your hand and see where it takes you from there.
