Re: A disagreement over AK
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] You guys know if he shows QQ it's an instacall, right? [/ QUOTE ] The poster I was disagreeing with said that if you plug TT+/AK into pusher's range, it's a fold...and it's not that close. THat boggled my mind and I really didn't believe him. [/ QUOTE ] I was the poster... I think you are risking too perfect a stack. Someone (irie, the canadian guy, maybe citanul) made a post about using full "pressure" (wasn't the correct word) of you stack. And this is the perfect situation where the 900 chip guy is using full pressure on your 1500 stack. You have 1350 if u fold... and 2400 if u win. My intuition told me it was a fold, but you guys saying it's a call throws me off a bit. I might have to do some ICM HW, and comeback to y'all. (i'm going out now, so i'l do it 2morow afternoon) Isn't this one of those stack preservations, insta call w/ QQ? Are u calling, becasue if u start folding AK in this spot, people will push w/ any 2 after u raise? |

Re: A disagreement over AK
We are calling because the pot is 1125 and its 750 to call. Hero only has to win 40% of the time. Also, hero is the big stack. If he loses this he is still in it. If he wins he can dominate the tourney assuming he plays a big stack well. And by playing well I mean not folding in spots like this. Hero sends a message that he's not to be fd with after this hand.
