Auto Push?

Im curious as to why people advocate a fold for the 2nd hand. Granted, its likely he couldve gotten a better spot earlier but whats the justification for not pushing now with any 2?

I said push the second one as well. But I wouldn't push any 2. Pushing any 2 early position into that many players is stupid IMO. JTo is good enough in my book though.

There becomes a limit at how many hands you can push hands in certain spots. Hand one will never be a push, no matter how many BB you have left. As your stack goes down, people will call more and that offsets the value of stealing the blinds. Seven handed button pushes (when you are shorter then the table) max out at about 40% of your hands (which is about what you should shove here). JTo is the only Jxo hand that I would shove in this spot.

Hand 2: It will be a losing push, but again taking the blinds will cost you something so you have to pick the lesser of the 2 evils. It is easy to figure out how good the push is, but I have no idea how it stacks up to taking a blind. Wish someone else knew something about this effect.

Hand 3: Yeah not good. Wait for a top 40% hand in this spot.

Thanks to all the posters. Sorry about the format of each hand, but that is how Party saved them for me. I've tried a couple of times to use a hand converter, but the one I've tried hasn't worked.

I'll check out ICM (it is freeware, correct?). I bookmarked the page somewhere, I just have to take the time to learn how to use it. I guess that time has come.

BTW, I folded hands 1 & 3, and pushed #2. Believe it or not, once the blinds increased so that I had less than 10xbb, these were my best oppty's to play, the first oppty to be first to enter the pot. Otherwise, I didn't have any kind of hand to play when I was not first in.
