Default seattle area card rooms?

I'll be in seattle for a few days around the end of this month and figured i'd check out some of the local cardrooms. I'm staying up in Bothell, so it looks like the closest cardroom is the Kenmore Lanes bowling alley. I may swing by the Muckleshoot casino when I get to WA since I'm flying into SeaTac.

Any other suggestions for local card rooms? Does Diamond Lil's still have a cardroom? Pokerpages has some out of date info about it and it looks like the web page redirects to freddie's, and the freddie's site doesn't actually mention poker at all.

Thanks!

Diamond Lil's is still going strong. I have only been to Kenmore once a few years ago, and wasn't wild about the experience- small, smoky, and full of mopes.

Muckleshoot is a fair distance from Bothell; not far as the crow flies (maybe 40 miles?), but the godawful traffic to get there makes it over an hour easily. I have only played there once (but will be there again this Friday), but I enjoyed the experience. The staff was competent, the other players were fun, and I doubled my buy in in about 2 hours

Tulalip in Marysville to the north might be easier to get to from Bothell- I am not a fan of the room, but other people here seem to be ok with it. Last I heard they had a capped buy in NLHE game that might be fun.

Last but not least- a lot of the 'mini-casinos' in the Shoreline area (just north of the Seattle city limits) are now spreading poker. I haven't had a chance to play in any of them yet, but from their radio ads ("Don't sit at home and watch poker on TV...come and play it yourself!"), they are catering to the WPT fan, so the fish are likely swimming.

I've got friends who say nothing but good things about the money to be won at Kenmore (and not many good things about the atmosphere).

My family and I are going to be spending a couple of days this summer in Shoreline at my sister-in-law's. Do you have any information you can share on the names, numbers, web links, etc. of any these local mini-casinos that spread hold-em?

if getting your aces that flopped trips cracked by someone holding a 42o and catching a runner runner straight is the kind of thing that sends you on monster tilt, then kenmore is not your place.

but, all that money you lost on that hand can easily be won back on your AQ that flops top pair against a maniac who will reraise you on the river and then when you call yell out "play the board"

kenmore is quite literally full of fools of every kind. maniacs, newbies who just play everything weakly. mmm kenmore *drools*

The best one in shoreline is probably The Hideway. It's on the corner of Highway 99 and 145th.

It has a 2 dollar max rake and a 1 dollar bonus drop. Also I'm pretty sure it's the only casino in that area that spreads a 10-20. The games are good, the food is Ok, but it is one small little cruddy room, but all the rooms in that area are small and cruddy.

Tulalip is much closer than Mucks from bothell. It's around exit 202 on I-5 north. I havent been to the new room yet. I've heard it's nice, but the dealers still suck.

Lil's is still a great place...

Hideaway lost a bit of players i've heard from the other cardrooms opening. Also the fact the place right next to it got robbed last week didnt help. Lots of places to play on Aurora ave. Though, i'm not sure what stakes are spread where at the new places.

I've got to get out more.

Thanks for the info, although 10-20 is a bit above my usual B&M stakes, as I recently moved up to 4-8. Would I need to drive up to Tulalip for a lower stakes game?

Hey Chesspain,

The Hideaway in Shoreline (145th and Aurora) spreads 4/8 as well as 10/20, so you should be fine there. If you're allergic to smoke though, stay away, but the same goes for any of the cardrooms in the area I guess. Kenmore spreads 3/6 only. I'm not sure about the other cardrooms on Aurora (Hwy 99) since I never got around to visiting them, but I would assume they all spread either 3/6 or 4/8. Tulalip spreads as low as 4/8 as well.

GoT,

Thanks for the info. I just ran Hideaway through Mapquest; it turns out it's only four miles from my sister-in-law's house. Maybe our two-day stopover there on our way back from Alaska will be tolerable after all.
