Default How far should I have gone wtih my pocket 6\'s?

Played 1/2 NL at the Trop this weekend and got dealt pocket 6's in late position, I get 3 callers, Flop comes:

Jd, Qh, Ks

UTG bets $15, next guy folds, another calls, action is to me,

What should I have done? See below for what I did and the outcome of the hand.

Turn was a 6, River was another 6 but that doesn't matter since I folded to the $15 bet on the flop.

1) Did you raise? This sort of thing is important when you post a hand.

2) I don't care what the turn and river were, you have to fold on the flop. The fact that you would have hit a 2-outer followed by a 1-outer makes no difference; calling here to hit 2 outs would be an awful play.

You made the right fold... next time you play, count the number of times that you fold a pocket pair on the flop and WOULDN'T hit a set.

No, I didnt raise pre flop, should I have raised?

I knew I made the right fold on the flop, isnt it a 11% chance of flopping a set? and 2% on the ruen and river? I guess it just sucks seeing runner runner 6's.

I wasn't advocating a raise; depends on the game.

I was trying to suggest that you put this kind of information in the original post, though. You stated that you "got 66 and got 3 callers"; the wording about getting 3 callers suggests by convention that you made a raise.

When posting a hand, refer to the FAQ stickied at the top of the list of posts for some basic guidelines.

I haven't read the results yet.

If you had raised preflop, and everyody had checked to you, then I'd make a solid continuation bet.

Now, however, if you had raised preflop and somebody bets into you with all those face cards on the flop, they must have AK or AQ beaten, or be a big bluffer, or be betting there TT with OESD. In any case, you're toast and should fold.

If you just limped, then fold - no set, no bet.

I have to say, this is a pretty easy fold.

Now to read what you actually did...

You made the right play. Don't be results oriented.

In a really tight online game with 100 BB buy-in, I'll raise 66 if limped to me in LP. This usually narrows the field to 1 or 2 callers who typically fold to a continuation bet. Every once in a while, I get bet into on the flop and then I fold if I missed my set. If I'm check-raised and I don't think villain is getting tricky with a draw, I'll fold too. Finally, if I hit a set, I'll make a continuation bet like usual and win a big pot if that's the one time villain decides that he's had enough of my LP continuation bets and decides to try and stack me with his 2-pair, over-pair, or whatever.

In a live 1/2 100 max NL game I play at sometimes at a local casino, that approach would be worse than giving my money away. LP raises get many callers, and continuation bets seem to have one or two policemen in every hand. In that game, I limp with 66 and don't play the flop without a set or at least a 457r flop that gives me a lot of outs to semi-bluff with.
