Default Another tricky(?) 99 hand from Party Super - thoughts appreciated

about 250 people left in the Party Super (820 people entered). Hero has a slightly-below average stack. The EP raiser has opened a lot of pots but seems solid. The flat-caller has played a lot of hands and seems like a fish. You are one or two off the button....

What's your move? But more importantly, why? I will post results after a few responses.

I push here seeing it as a squeeze play, hope the initial raiser didnt have a big hand, and probably expect the fish to call and race

I'm pushing here too as you need chips now. Hopefully you won the race.

I would push here. A miniraise and a call doesn't indicate overwhelming strength. You need chips. You've got all but 5 hands beat preflop. Push, double up, go on to the final table.

Hey, ImproveDK here.

I'm calling this one. Mikie has been playing very laggish and could have a lot of hands. You've got a nice stack, 10BB+. I don't like pushing, why risk everything with a good stack?

With this many callers, and an otherwise passive table, there might very well be a couple of more limpers behind you, giving you very good implied odds for your set.

If you hit a flop with undercards, i'm pushing no matter what happens. If you hit a dangerous flop, i'm check/folding.

Yeah, I noticed later you were at my table...

I think calling is indeed the best option here. Not sure where my opinion changes, i.e. where I'd put in a raise. JJ? QQ?

RESULTS in next post...

Well.....I pushed. While most seemed to think I lost a race, which was what I expected to be in, that's not what happened.

The blinds folded, which was something I kinda took for granted.

EP folded. That was what I thought would be my biggest hurdle. He opened a lot, and my raise was pretty significant.

However, I did NOT count on MP/Maniac-type to call with....KK.

I got no help and busted.

If I called and there were undercards, I was dead. But if I called and there are overcards and he leads out, I may fold.

I do think worse hands call my re-raise here, but it was probably too risky. I could've picked a better spot. Live and learn.
