VEGAS STORY 2/5 $500 NL, YMTC
*****THIS IS FROM ANOTHER FORUM*****
Here's the situation: On my last trip to Vegas, I decide to check out the new MGM Grand Poker room and see what kind of action they got. The room was very busy. I like what I see so I put my name on the 2/5 blinds No Limit Hold Em game. ($500 buy in) I wait for about 15 mins and then my name is called. I buy in for $500 and make my way to my table. The table is full with a lot of chips on the table. A few players have over $2K, one player has almost $5K. Actions looks great, I am very excited. I sit down and its just in time for my BB. I post my $5 BB and wait for everyone to act before me. The player to my right is Mr. Big Stack (SB) and everyone folds to him. He looks at me and says hello, smiles for a second and says "I'll Put You All In". I look at my cards and I see Pocket Queens. Now, before I ask you guys the ultimate question. A quick recap: - I just got to the table. I have no reads on any players. - Mr. Big Stack is putting me ALL IN and he obviously got me covered. I lose this hand and im out $500 on the very first hand. I can do two things: Fold and give him my $5 bucks. OR Call and possibly double up on the very first hand. Could he be bullying me since I just came to the table? Fresh meat! Does he really have AA or KK, or AK to make such a HUGE raise? Ok, what would you do? |

How about.... "Hello, I'm Mr. Surinillini and I'll call your all-in." It's down to two handed, he's not betting you all in on AA or KK to win your $5.

The relevant fact here is that although this is a full table, his is a blind hand like yours. CALL. This also has the benefit of letting him know that he can't bully you always to negate your having position on him.

If I have a couple buy ins in my pocket (which I most certainly will), I call without much hesitation.

You want this guy to run you over?
Never show that if for some crazy reason you fold this. |

Re: VEGAS STORY 2/5 $500 NL, YMTC
What range of hand does do you think he is willing to risk 500 for 5?
And he is not running over you, its the first hand. |

Re: VEGAS STORY 2/5 $500 NL, YMTC
Um. Showing that you are willing to fold queens here is asking to be run over by him and the entire table.
Better hope you flop the nuts alot to have any chance. |
