FCC Chairman quote
In a forum on television content, FCC Chairman Kevin Martin, had this to say about the possibility of the government stepping in and setting decency standards for cable and satellite TV:
"You can always turn the television off and of course block the channels you don't want but why should you have to?" I'm not making this up - this is a direct quote. Um...Excuse me Mr. Chairman, but I PAID for my satellite and cable TV programming. It's up to ME to determine what is and what is not appropriate for my children to watch. Not you, not George Bush, no, not even Pat Robertson. I'm so goddamned sick of this administration pushing right-wing agendas, all for the "sake of the children." You know what? Screw the children. They don't pay taxes. I do. And you can have my TV remote when you tear it out of my cold, dead hands. Fuc*ers. |
