Best book for NL$100s?
Hi,
Could anyone tell me what the best book (besides TTOP) would be most suited for the NL100 tables please? Thanks! |

"Reading/posting on these boards liberally will be best though."

im suprised no one has said Supersystem. i like it. i am pretty eclectic though so i think everyone should read it along with TOP, hold'em for advanced players and rueben and ciaffone...

I think Vol. 1 of HOH is pretty good for SSNL. But I'm pretty bad at SSNL.

Re: Best book for NL$100s?
I dont understand why people like Super System. Doyle teaches super arrgessive play so he can make negative EV choices because he is "freerolling" with all the pots he scooped with CBs. This makes no sense to me, because if you just play super aggro and pick up the pots anyway, without blowing chips on gutshots, he would have higher EV.
It also says nothing about pot odds or implied odds or anythhing important. And he believes in ESP. my two cents |

[ QUOTE ] SSHE [/ QUOTE ] Great book but it is all about limit holdem. How does this help an NL player? [/ QUOTE ] IIRC, Miller had a section where he has you figure out what is the nut hand and then the 2nd nuts. I thought that this was useful and was good to practice. I can't remember what else, it's been a while since I looked at that book. It wouldn't ever hurt to read it... btw to the OP, this topic has been covered in the Books forum many times over. I'll give a hint though - TOP should be on your list. |
