This is interesting. Maybe I'll start playing shorthanded 5/10. My shorthanded game will improve before i move up, and it will probably be the equivalent of playing a higher stake anyway.

Why not start out with 3/6 shorthanded? There is some adjustment to be made and learning that on a slightly lower level makes sense to me. And of course if you don't feel comfortable playing shorthanded you can always go back to your normal 5/10 full.

15/30 and 20/40 tables on party in genera are softer than the 10/20 fulls.

Yeah thats what I thought. The VPIP is a good barometer and that is always higher at every stake on party other than 10/20. AVG pot volume is an easily accessible one and that is always proportionally way to low on 10/20 compared to anything between 5c/1 - 100/200. And ofcourse if u just watch for 15 minutes, there is far more adhereance to the fund. theory of poker at 10/20 than at any other stake.

Why not move back to 3/6 6max? I'm already an ok shorthanded player. Not great, but a winning player. I think i'll be alright for now, but if I dont like my first results at playing only 5/10 6max then I'll drop down just to be safe.
