Default Raise this flop?

I felt very weak tight during this hand. Is this one I should be raising on the flop? If so, is it because of having a pot equity edge?

Nice hand. You don't want to raise this flop because it will force most people to face 2 bets cold when you want to encourage them to stick around. You want people to stay in for the flush draw which, against a field of 6, is more likely to be good at showdown than your pair of 9's. I play it the same.

nh sir.
You aren't raising because you don't want to blow out the field by forcing them to call two cold.

You'll have a huge equity edge if they all call, but if you raise, you may not get the requisite 2 callers for your raise to be +EV. You're probably better off calling and trying to get as many people to stick around as possible. Unfortunately, you have lousy position relative to the bettor. Raising the flop wouldn't be too bad, but calling is likely better, and, hey, if someone raises, you can always 3bet or cap.

With a gutshot, mid pair, and a flush draw, hero as all kinds of outs to improve if his hand isn't currently best (and it might be). Getting this HU would be much less than terrible, and if he gets even 1 cold caller, it's +EV for sure. However, he'll get paid off much better with his big draws if more people stick around.

terrible advice. if he raises here it's down to him and the guy who bet, not what you want with a flush draw- he wants those overcalls! why would u want to go heads up with a flush draw? calling was correct, nice play.
