Flopped top 2 pair, but I don't like my play

No reads on the table as I had just sat down and this was my first orbit to play. I'm pretty sure I played this hand incorrectly.

Bet the flop.
Bet the turn.

If you're going to check raise the flop...you have to RAISE not call. After doing that, Id bet out the turn and river.

On the flop you can check-raise because you expect the pf raiser to bet, but you didn't raise! [img]/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img] 3-bet this and cap it on the flop if possible. You're actually losing money by not raising here.

The check on the flop is Ok, but I would definately 3-bet this.

Also, I would bet the turn, since you are not really hiding that you have a good hand, so a check here is unnecessary.

i 3rd that. 2 pair IS AWESOME!! especially one holding a Ten! Today I had a 6/2 off in the BB, i check, flop two pair, chraised, capped the flop, led the turn and river. good show!

I prefer betting/3-betting the flop. But since you checked, and there was action, cap it yourself. Lead the turn and river unless you get raised; call down if you do.

You are correct.

Give reasons for your play:
1) Why check-cold-call the flop?
2) Why check-raise the turn?

If you can answer these question, you can figure out what went wrong.
