Taken from Yahoo:

Sep 15 Roethlisberger (knee) has been downgraded to questionable for Sunday's game against the Texans. Steelers coach Bill Cowher said that Roethlisberger is day-to-day with his bone bruise, and he'll know more about his status Friday, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Recommendation: After downgrading his second-year quarterback from probable to questionable, Cowher said that Roethlisberger was only to participate in practice Thursday on a part-time basis. "He worked a little bit today, not as much as I'd hoped he would," Cowher said of Roethlisberger after practice. "It was not really any kind of setback. He does have a bone bruise and it just has not responded as quickly as I'd hoped, and his status is day-to-day." Tommy Maddox would replace Roethlisberger at the quarterback spot should he not be able to play. It still would be somewhat surprising to not see Big Ben out there on the field Sunday.
