Default Can you fold a set?

Button ($212.82)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 9s, 9h. SB posts a blind of $0.50.
4 folds, MP2 calls $1, 1 fold, CO calls $1, Button raises to $4, 1 fold, Hero calls $3, MP2 calls $3, CO calls $3.

Flop: ($16.50) 5d, Kd, 9c (4 players)
Hero bets $10, MP2 folds, CO calls $10, Button folds.

Turn: ($36.50) Jd (2 players)
Hero bets $30, CO calls $150.88 (All-In)

sorry for not converting the first time

edit: i was about 90% sure he had a FLUSH so was I justified in calling in attempt to fill up? were my pot odds wrong? thx

first of all id suggest using a hand converter.. secondly, i have a hard time laying down sets because i dont have that control over my game yet

how can you be 90% sure he had a set. his range could also include flush or straight.

As for the odds, assuming that you're behind to a flush, you need to call about $120 in a pot of about $210, so you're getting about 1.75:1, which in turn means you need about 17 outs to call with 1 card to come. You have no implied odds, because villain is already all-in.

So if your opponent does have the flush then no, you do not have the odds to call.

However, you also need to add in the possibility of a bluff or lesser hand; its really hard to be 90% sure that someone really has a flush in this case. You didn't provide any reads, and so I think a fold is the correct play in the absence of any other information. However, against a typical LAG player, this could easily be a call.

Bet more on the flop or check raise the flop. Leading for $10 here is bad imo. I fold the turn and maybe write something nasty in the chatbox. [img]/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img]
