hand reading: BB check-reraise all-in (WCOOP #8 4th hour)
WCOOP Event #8, $1000NL
Blinds 200/400a25, ~360 left, 180 paid Folded to CO with 20K stack. Opens for 1200. Standard for this position (2BB in EP/MP, 3BB in LP, open-raises more frequently than most). CO normally plays lower buyins per thepokerdb.com ($10-$100), but is mostly solid IMHO. Button calls. 16K stack. Haven’t played with button before. Only note is that he called an EP open-raise with 99 in LP, minraised the PFR on a JTx flop and then called when the PFR reraised all-in . Found out later he’s a 2+2er, but I didn’t know that at the time. SB folds. I call in the BB. 10K stack. Flop: T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (Pot=4025) I check, CO bets 1200, Button raises to 3000, I push. 7600 for CO to call (a little over 1/3 of his stack), 5800 for button (basically ½ his stack). For full credit please provide the following items: A. Hand range for me. B. Hand range for CO. C. Hand range for Button. D. Hand range CO can call with. E. Hand range CO can push with. F. Hand range Button can call me with (i.e. assume CO has folded). G. Hand range Button can call all-in if CO pushes. Results sometime around noon… Che |

Re: hand reading: BB check-reraise all-in (WCOOP #8 4th hour)
oh, and now that i've said my ranges.. time for specifics.. i'm saying you have ATh, and the CO pushes w/ QQ. No hearts come and you're on the way home.
Eh? |

Re: hand reading: BB check-reraise all-in (WCOOP #8 4th hour)
I'm too tired for the full exercise but it seems to me you must have some kind of speculative hand to not pull a squeeze play here.

BUMP
Maybe this got buried in all the sweat threads, maybe people just don't want to do 7 assignments, but I'll bump this once for the day crowd.
Results in about 3 hours... |

Re: hand reading: BB check-reraise all-in (WCOOP #8 4th hour)
Ok, here's my shot.
[ QUOTE ] A. Hand range for me. [/ QUOTE ] Your hand range preflop is big but not huge. Suited As, Big A, PP, not AK or JJ and up, probably not AQ either. You would most likely reraise here with your big hands, as its a great spot for it. When you check push the flop with lots of action you either have a monster hand or a monster draw. 89 of hears, or KQ/KJ of hearts, Ax of hearts or something like that. A set is possible too I suppose or 2 pair although im not entirely sure if 57s or 107s are in your preflop range. [ QUOTE ] B. Hand range for CO. [/ QUOTE ] Two Cards. [ QUOTE ] C. Hand range for Button. [/ QUOTE ] It seems like he's going to be playing a lot of hands here against a raise. All pairs, All suited As, A9o and up, QJ and better, lots of suited connectors. When he raises the flop all that does is narrow it down to at least a pair or a draw. A7s/88/99 are all possibe as is two small hearts, 89 maybe even 68s. Given what we know about the button i wouldnt be surprised to see something funky like that. [ QUOTE ] D. Hand range CO can call with. [/ QUOTE ] If im CO I am iso-pushing lots of hands here. Im going to the felt with JJ and better definitely, same with two overs with a flush draw or A10 of hearts. Hands like K10/Q10/J10 make me vomit here because I don't think I can call, but I may be making a pretty big FTOP mistake if I fold. Even so though, I toss those in a tourney with a slow structure where I have a nice stack. I will fold bad draws like a baby flush draw, but push good draws in the hopes of either having an equity edge if the button calls, or buying myself more outs by getting the button to fold. [ QUOTE ] E. Hand range CO can push with [/ QUOTE ] See above. [ QUOTE ] F. Hand range Button can call me with (i.e. assume CO has folded). [/ QUOTE ] The same as the CO I would think, with the same problems with weak 10s, but with the added price you have to call with them and hope to suck out. Also any flush draw or straight draw is obviously priced in. [ QUOTE ] G. Hand range Button can call all-in if CO pushes. [/ QUOTE ] Combo hands like straight flush draws, or pair+flush draw. Also a slow played AA/KK and sets obviously> Maybe the but flush draw also |

Re: hand reading: BB check-reraise all-in (WCOOP #8 4th hour)
haven't read everything else...
you: AT+ or big draw. i'm guessing big draw. CO: two cards button: Tx+, any decent draw, maybe 7x. possibly a bluff, but not too likely |

RESULTS
I had T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] for top pair/no kicker/no draw.
CO thought a while and folded. Button went deep into his time bank before folding. CO said he had 99. Button never commented (but I'm sending a PM now so maybe he will jump in, maybe not). My full analysis will have to wait a little longer due to time constraints. Sorry! Later, Che |

Re: hand reading: BB check-reraise all-in (WCOOP #8 4th hour)
ok here goes:
A:AT, suited A, two suited overcards, overpair-though you probably reraise JJ up here(though this wouldn't be a terrible time to slowplay AA here, since button is more likely to reraise CO's cont. bet with marginal hands), 68h, 9Th, set, mmmaaayyybbeee KT, B. Pretty much anytwo. probably either a monster or nothing, cause of the flop bet. C.A-JT, 88,99, A7, flushdraw, maybe straight draw. D. set E. Overpair, AT, flush draw, F. Overpair AT, KT mayyyybbbeee, set, flushdraw G.nut flushdraw, sf draw, pair+flush, set, AA-QQ |
