I joined the libertarian party prior to the last elcetion. They have a little quiz called "world's smallest political quiz" Anyway I gave the quizz to a whole bunch of people just for fun and everyone came out republican or democrat except poker players. They mostly came out libertarian. I will reproduce it here if anyone wants to take it just give me the scores for each section and I will let you know how you came out.

If you agree with the statment score 20 points, if you are in the middle 10 points if you disagree 0 points. Then sum the points for each of the 2 sections.

Section 1

(1)government shoud not censor speech, press, media or internet.

(2) Military service should be voluntary. There should be no draft.

(3) There should be no laws regarding sex between consenting adults.

(4) Repeal laws progibiting adult possession and use of drugs.

(5) There should be no national id card.

Score for section 1 _________

Section 2

(1) End corporate welfare. No government handouts to business.

(2) End government barriers to international free trade.

(3) Let people control their own retirement no social security.

(4) Replace government welfare with private charity.

(5) Cut taxes and government spending by 50% or more.

Total, 150 points. What does that make me? By the way, I do dislike the Reps and Dems, but ideologically I'm more in between the Greens and Libertarians than just Libertarian.

I have voted for 3rd party candidates in the last 3 presidential elections.

I pretty liberal and am somewhere in that Greeny/Libertarian mix as well.
I too find it interesting that so many poker-players (on 2+2) seem to fall in this category.
Certainly not a majority....but almost definitely more than the regular population.

FWIW - Interestingly, both of my parents are card-carrying, Rush Limbaugh-adoring Republicans (have even contributed $$ to the RNC) and always have been.
