Default Vinnie Vinh

Is he not the same guy who layed down two pair against Esfandiari in WPT Season One (anyone remember that hand?)

Title: Vinnie Vinh Makes An Interesting Laydown
Log: With the board showing Jd-7h-7s-4h the player in seat 8 bet out $1,500. Vinnie Vinh reraised to $4,000. Seat 8 reraised all in for not even $1,000 more, and Vinnie Vinh almost immediately mucked. With the pot at almost $10,000, the laydown was very suprising to everyone at the table, prompting the player in the four seat to ask Vinh, "He your buddy?"

Just a few minutes before, Vinh layed down a made straight to Bill Gazes' $7,000 reraise when the only hand Gazes could have held that would have been in the lead was 10-7.

If VInh had air, which he obviously did, why put in another 1k?

Many good players raise enough to look committed when they have nothing.

Maybe so, but if my math is correct, his opponent led out with about a third of his stack. Seems odd to make a move with pure air in that spot.

I was actually questioning the other hand more, though.

He laid down 75 on a 986 flop? In what situation is that anything less than terrible?
