Default Question on Tunica circuit events

Basically, I'm looking for an overview of the Tunica circuit events, and how they work.
Buddies and myself are going to be in Tunica the 16th and 17th, and leaving the morning of the 18th and I was wondering from anyone who knows the satellite format ...We wouldn't buy in for the full price of an event, but may take a shot at a satellite.

Can you explain how it works for me? The buy ins on the 16th, and 17th look to be 300+40 and 500+50. Are they 10 seat sat. tables? What's the buy-in? Do they run around the clock?

Are the events one day tourneys or longer?

Any other helpful advice for unanticipated considerations would be appreciated.

The Satalites will be running around the clock and will be 10 seats. If they're run the same as the WPO the $65's pay out 1 spot. ($500 chip and I think $50 cash) The $120's pay 2 $500 chips and $100 cash. The events should be 1 day. If they're not they'll play down to a final table and play the final the next morning.

I played in many of the single-table satellites at the WSOP in Vegas and assume the WSOP-circuit satellites will be similar to what chip777 describes.

Basically, they give you an entry-chip that you can use for whatever future event you want.
But they are VERY easy to just sell for cash also . Just go up to a future single-table satellite OR to the bigger event with people waiting in line and exchange the chip for their cash.

But it might be different at the Grand for this...who knows?
Most likely though I would expect that the tourney-entry chips will be just as easily sell-able as they were at the Vegas WSOP.

chip777 - I've been out of the loop lately in Tunica.

are they having the mid-summer classic (or whatever it's called) this year at the Horseshoe and Gold Strike?? or is the WSOP-circuit event at the Grand pretty much taking it's place.

What light can you shed on the fact that the WSOP-circuit event in January at the Grand is taking place at about the same time as the WPT-event WPO at the Gold Strike and Horseshoe??

Are you going to be involved in the tournaments at all up at the Grand or are you pretty much staying at the Horseshoe to handle the increased ring-game traffic that you know will be coming?

Sorry for the ignorant questions here. But it seems like there's a lot going on pretty quickly regarding all this WSOP-circuit stuff (and I don't even know what corporations own what casinos anymore!!)

Wow, Lots of questions. Let me do my best here. The WSOP circuit event replaced the Mid-America. I don't know anything about the Janurary event yet. We're just trying to get through one thing at a time. As far as being involved at Grand I've been told I can work doubles if I want to work. So far they think they can handle the event on their own and I'm inclined to let em. We gave the event to Grand because they have the space to run it. Gold Strike is under new management so the joint ventures between the two of us are over. I'd much rather have the side action with us any day of the week.

I was able to sell entry chips easily at the WSOP circuit in New Orleans.
