This guy needed psychological help. You should have turned the tapes over to your CO, so this process could have begun.

You had a great opportunity to help another human being; instead, you assisted in his death. Although you probably won't, you should feel very, very sad. A classic tragedy, with you as the catalyst, selecting the worst of all possible courses of action.

Learn empathy and have the courage to act on it.

The army doesn't really do much in the way of empathy and sensitivity training for the enlisted men. Raise this issue with your congresswoman.

Maybe I'm f'd up, but I think that is a hilarious story.

It certainly seems like you didn't like the guy, so I don't know why people think you should feel bad he killed himself.
