Default Re: Hold\'em Versus Blackjack

My friends and I have the same discussion whenever we go to a casino together. I find the poker room and they go to the blackjack tables. I've been playing nearly everyday in some way or another for a couple years now but I don't have the skill level to quit my job quite yet. I'm good enough to win most games at houses and win without having to get lucky at casinos. With that said i think that poker is the best choice for two reasons.

The first is that poker happens to be extremely popular right now. Poker gives you the opportunity to prey on the weak. With the growing number of new players there's gonna be a lot of weak players out there. Blackjack is easier to learn without a doubt but the odds certainly are not in your favor.

The real reason why i love poker so much though is because it's fun. It's fun to play but more importantly it's fun to learn. Everytime i walk away from the table i learn something new about myself and my game. For me poker is a constant learning process and the more i learn the more i want to play. The more i play the more possibilities are opened up to me like limit poker or omaha and the more i play those games the more i learn about myself as a player.

Well anyway that's just a novice outlook on things but i can tell you that i won't get bored with playing poker anytime soon because right now the possibilities for growing are infinite. Which i can't really say for blackjack.
