Default Private Draw Tournament

With PokerRoom's latest update, players now have the ability to set up private tournaments without emailing support, very similar to PokerStars. I bring this up because in addition to holdem (*yawn*), omaha, omaha/8, stud, and stud/8, five card draw is a choice. I would like to set up a five-card draw tourney for my friends to play in and would like some feedback as far as a good time and some of the options we have.

The lowest buy-in we can have is $5+0.50. I want it to be a small buy-in social event. It is possible to have a rebuy event, but I want to avoid that for this tourney.

We can play fixed limit, pot limit, or no limit. Fixed limit will give newbies the most play, but will last a while and is kind of boring. No limit will go the quickest. Pot limit is the best format for skillful play.

We can have either a "turbo", "regular", or "slow" structure. I don't know exactly how this works on PokerRoom, but I'd suggest "regular".

For prizes, we can have "flat", "normal", "steep", or "winner take all". I suggest "winner take all" because I want all of your money Actually I'd suggest "flat" for a social game.

This won't be like the "Weird Poker" series that I pulled the plug on. I'm just looking for a one-time fun little event.

Does Poker Room have 5 draw cash games and everything?

Nevermind, I don't know why I ask, I'll just go download the software.

How are the games on PR? Maybe I'll deposit $100 to work on my five draw game.

Anyway, if I get some cash on PR I'll be in for a tourney for sure.

More players than paradise. More 'active' limits. Worse software.

I am in - depending on the day and time of the day it gonna happen. I live in Brasil @ GMT+3 now GMT+4 due to Daylight Summer savings. But weekends are usually OK. I'll bring the beer and peanuts - and please have at least one ashtray at the side table!

Make it a limit tournament. PL has too much luck to it, (it basicly boils down to who has the best hand preflop).

I'm curious to why you think limit is better than pot-limit (in terms of the luck element). My personal results (not representative of all players, obviously) shows that my ROI is much higher in pot-limit tourneys than in limit tourneys. I believe it is because the bad players making typical draw donkey plays get knocked out quicker in PL than limit. Of course, another possibility could be that maybe I suck at limit draw

I think there is plenty of room for "poker skill" in pot-limit draw-knowing when to play draws (i.e. when the implied odds are in your favor), how and when to bluff, knowing how to manipulate the pot size, knowing when to change gears and steal blinds late in tourneys (many tight draw players don't adjust and get blinded off at this point). I feel pot limit emphasizes these skills more than limit.

Also, do you have any view about the number of players per table? I personally prefer the 6 player tables at 24h as opposed to the 5 player tables at Paradise/PokerRoom or the 8 at Planet.
