ATs ragged board vs raise
Villain is pretty typical, about 30/10/1.5. I've seen him limp stuff like QTo and AJs UTG - I'm not sure how he'd play them postflop.
On the turn, I decided to check/call and lead any river face card, else check/call. Thoughts? Re: ATs ragged board vs raise
I'd raise the turn & bet the river.

Re: ATs ragged board vs raise
I like it. Sure, you will look like an idiot sometimes, when he calls you with A5 or 33, but I think he will fold an UI ace here most of the time.
You lose a bet, when he would have checked behind with a better hand, but I think it's worth it. |

Re: ATs ragged board vs raise
A don't like a turn checkraise because I think it has almost no fold equity, no value (without a read), and doesn't resolve the river situation. I'd be much more inclined to raise in position.
Folding is OK, but I'm getting 3:1 on a calldown, which I think is enough against this player. I intended my river bet as a bluff. I won't be raised by anything worse than kings, while Villain might occassionally fold a winner (AJ or 33, for example) given my preflop raise. I thought this was better than check-calling, but if Villain checks behind some better hands (and won't fold them for one bet) this may not be true. |
