Re: PL Stud
I played PL Stud in Paris at the Aviation club where they played dealers choice of 10 games. Not enough to form a real opinion, as my basic strategy was to only play to get all-in with AA or better on third street. Also it was not chosen very often.
Five rounds of PL betting is very scary! Playing PL Stud/8 was perhaps worse fun. |

Re: PL Stud
I used to regularly play in the $100 & $200 buy-in games.
It was great value. Then Prima introduced the smaller $30 & $50 games, which has killed the action. So i rarely play there anymore. I would also be very wary of collusion in the 100 & 200 games nowadays. But PL stud is a great game to play against weaker opponents. You will not have many losing sessions. Probably why it is not so popular. |

Re: PL Stud
I deposited at Prima for a bonus, and sat down at the Stud tables. Saw Pot Limit as only game being served, decided to sit down and play. $1/$2 limit.
Saw someone raise for $15 with an ace door. Another raised to $30 with door 6. Ace raised all-in for $55 and was called. The hands were: A76(rainbow) vs 2JA(rainbow) It was quite an introduction. |
