Default Help Creating VBS File (X-Post)

I downloaded the latest version of windows scripting in order to run Zapp's script, but I don't know how to create a new script. The instructions say to create a new text file with a ".vbs" extension, but my computer isn't recognizing that as a script.

Go to My Computer, then click Toolds-->Folder Options-->View and make sure "Hide extensions for known file types" is unchecked. If it is unchecked, then I don't have any other suggestions. If that box is checked, then you are essentially creating a new text file called filename.vbs.txt except that the .txt is hidden. Since it still has the .txt extension, windows treats it as a normal text file.
