Value raise or not?
Party $5/10. Villain is a non-entity of a player: calls too much preflop but plays pretty passively and weakly thereafter.
I raise UTG with AQo and only the BB calls. Flop: 9 8 4 rainbow. Check, I bet, he raises, I call. Turn: T, no flush possible. He bets and I call with my gutshot and overcards. I plan on folding the river unimproved. Question: what is your river plan for an A, Q or J if he bets? What if he checks? (Another question: should I even have got this far?) Guy. |

Re: Value raise or not?
I'm just calling the river if I improve, and betting if he checks. I don't know what I'd do if he raises, probably fold.

Re: Value raise or not?
I think I get this far, it's fun to catch a card and win a pot so calling is always a thrill.
I raise anything I hit on the river, and fold to a 3-bet, your description makes this sound like a no-brainer and betting when checked to is even easier. |
